This modern Japanese style house designed by Naoko Horible, has just become my favorite modern style home. I first saw it reading this article from Design Milk. To me it accomplishes a lot of what I try to do on a weekly basis of re-arranging the furniture and objects around my bedroom/ office. The lightness of the wood and paint along with the geometrical holes and long steps keep the space extremely open looking while still inspiring the mind with creativity and awe.

From the outside, its protruding wall is covered with horizontal wood planks that create another aspect the house keeps throughout of stacking and layering. This outside wall creates a kind of foreshadowing on what to expect from the inside of the home. I have always really liked the look of natural light wood especially in a modern theme, and this house definitely pulls this off really well.
